Hookin2 Hockey

Hookin2Hockey was developed by Hockey Australia and is designed for boys and girls aged under 10. Hookin2Hockey gives young boys and girls the opportunity to learn the basic skills of hockey, develop fundamental motor skills, make friends and have fun while learning how to play hockey. The Hookin2Hockey program has been separated into “Come and Try”, “Skills in Action” and “Stick to Hockey”.
Buderim Rebels Hockey Club (BRHC) will be running weekly “Come and Try” practice sessions up until Easter school holidays, followed by weekly “Stick to Hockey” sessions from May until August (excluding holidays).

H2H Come and Try

The “Come and Try” practice sessions are designed to provide beginners with hockey skills to enable them to start the hockey journey and also allow experienced H2H players to reconnect and continue their skill development.  It provides active 45 min hockey training sessions for children to learn new skills and have fun playing hockey under a safe and structured program.

Buderim Rebels will implement a number of “Come and Try” practice sessions to prior to the Easter School Holidays.  The first two Come and Practice sessions are free of charge and parents who just want their children to have a “try” at hockey are more than welcome to join in.  Hockey sticks will be available for these sessions by our club.  Children can use their own hockey equipment if they already have it.  All children will need to wear shoes and clothes that they can run around on the grass with.

Buderim Rebels Stick 2 Hockey

During this program participants will experience a modified game format, allowing participants to develop their skills through small sided team games. It is the bridging program from Hookin2Hockey to traditional club hockey or other social forms of the game.
Buderim Rebels in conjunction with Sunshine Coast Hockey Association (SCHA) will run this program from May to Aug . This program will have more emphasis on “playing” the game of hockey and provides a weekly training (on Wed) session and weekly (on Friday) inter-club games.

Players will need to complete the Hockey Under10 registration which includes the National, State and local Hockey Association registration fees. Once complete they are registered and insurance covered to practice and play hockey games.
The Hockey registration needs to be completed by following the Registration links from the Buderim Rebels Registration Page. Please follow the lnk to the Hockey Australia registration page.
